The facilities of TU Dortmund University are located on two campuses, the larger North Campus and the smaller South Campus. In addition, some university facilities are located in the adjacent Dortmund Technology Park as well as in the city center and the wider urban area.

Our guiding principle is the sustainable industrial society.

This requires both an energy transition and a resource transition, which are closely connected to one another.
Therefore, we develop long-term models and scenarios and investigate the spatial effects and planning control options.
Furthermore, we develop practical technical solutions for the circular economy and energy economy.
